Night before the cleanse meal prep

Monday, March 31, 2014

Meal prepping time!!!!! I love to prep and have everything ready to go. I have my fiber drinks layed out ready for days 1-3... Not looking forward to the sawdust taste. Just remember mix it and suck it down with a straw. I started late but How I Met Your Mother ended tonight and I'm so sad. It's one of the shows The Hubby and I have always watched together. So here is
meal prepping for a few days.

Breakfast muffins with eggs and spinach
Spinach and cheery tomatoes sautéed
                        Boiled eggs!
                 Fruit infused water!
Baked lemon chicken with capers and whole wheat pasta.
Baked chicken with sautéed spinach, garlic and cherry tomatoes.
                           Nom
My poor fridge is packed! No room for anything else. This meal prep I stepped outside if the box and tried new things besides turkey spaghetti.

My veggie noodle maker will be here tomorrow. I bought egg plant, zucchini, yellow squash, beets and carrots for clean veggie noodles. Pretty excited!

Meal prepping has worm me out! It's already midnight and I should have been in bed.

Xoxo,

Almond cranberry salad, chicken breast, sautéed spinach and cherry tomatoes. And a sweet potato. This is going to be soooooo good!!!

Advocare Meal Idea Wedsites

Saturday, March 29, 2014

Meal prep and what to eat will be one of the hardest parts of this challenge. So, I've decided to search the good ole GOOGLE for ideas on tips, clean eating and really what to eat and WHEN.

These links are very helpful with either the 10 day cleanse or the 24 day challenge. I have several of you doing both so I found sites for everyone.

I will keep updating this post with new helpful pages. Some of these are real women bloggers like me. Straight to the point about the fiber drink and hard days of the cleanse. Oh and the dreaded POOP questions.

Keep checking back and I'll keep sharing the love!

Grocery shopping Monday for the 10 day cleanse. I posted on Instagram that I'd love to have a meet up and shop together. Not only for a helpful shopping experience but for a good opportunity for a buggy group selfie! LOL!!! Yes I went there... would you expect anything less?

Comment below, email me or text me with any questions as always!

XOXO,
Mrs. Rogers

The dreaded before picture and measurements

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

The day y'all all have been dreading!!! Before pictires and taking your measurements. Remember they are before pictures for a reason! I also like to see inches lost vs pounds lost on the scale.

That being said I will be taking my taking my pictures and measurements on Sunday. The challenge starts Tuesday.

Tips- on pictures
• don't smile- I wasn't happy with the way I looked so why be happy in the picture? Show that camera your pissed off face!! Grrrrrrr!

•don't suck in
• side shots on both sides.
• front shot
• back shot
• gut shot not tucked into your pants or undies.
* I have a gut... And I am amazed at the shrinking in the pooch area. So you all know what I'm talking about... If your pooch hangs over snap a picture of that. You might not want to and it will probably depress you looking back at the pictures but remember.... That's your biggest competitor! YOU! I'm here to help and cheer you on and hope to get a little motivation myself. Just remember everyone starts somewhere.

• Measurement Tips•

• Measure the following•
• calves
• thighs
• butt
• hips
• gut/ pudge
• natural waist
• arms
• neck
• shoulders

I was amazed when I noticed 6 inches on each thigh gone.... Holy hell that's a ruler length!

You might not be in the best of moods when you finish this first step towards the challenge but it's one step forward.

Xoxo,
Mrs. Rogers

Look at that gut! Don't "tuck" it in your pants during your pictures. I'm totally ashamed of that hot mess but I got there on my own.

Some of my progress I've never showed anyone. No judgment zone here.... Don't be an ass. Please and Thank you.

See!!! No happy face!! I use the app PicFrame for all of my collages.

* this has taken a lot of guts for me to post these pictures. Make fun if you must, do whatever makes you feel better about yourself if needed. But don't be mean or hurtful.  Words hurt just as much as actions.

Just a southern girl trying to get healthy and lose some weight. I let myself go over the years... And now it's time to help motivate others and motivate myself.

Making my shopping list

Making a list keeps me on tract at the grocery store. And DON'T go hungry!! Worst idea ever! You'll have the grabbies and want all the food! I also prefer to go alone. Sorry Hubby! I know what to buy for him and it's all HORRIBLE!

I was taught by a friend one day that if you make your list by the way the store is layed out you won't skip anything and you make the perfect loop around the store. I start with the fruit and veggies since that is really where my store starts out. And I start from the right side... Weird?

So when making out your grocery list start with items that are together.
•fruits
•veggies
•meats
•yogurt
•cheese
•almond milk
•frozen items
• nuts

Super easy way to get in and out of the store too.

I'm working on my list for Sunday.  I will keep adding back to the list throughout the week. You're more than welcome to copy my list for your grocery adventure.
I am the weirdo that will go to different store for better deals. So please
ignore my craziness. The 10 day Advocare cleanse challenge is coming up and I'm grocery shopping for it. If you're joining along this might help. Good luck y'all!

•The List•

•bananas
•strawberries
•blueberries
•pineapple
•Granny Smith apples
• mangos
• pears
•lemons
• limes
• oranges
• avacados
• garlic glove
• asparagus
• broccoli
• cucumber
• zucchini
• squash

• ground turkey
• chicken strips or breast
• tilipia

**no dairy on the 10 day cleanse**
(Starts to cry like a baby because that means cheese)

•eggs
•frozen peas

•almonds
•natural PB
•oatmeal- not instant
•honey
•whole wheat tortilla
• whole wheat pasta or quinoa
• Ragu- sugar free sauce (yum)

Seems like the longest list ever right and a lot of money. You can make it work. Remember you don't have to buy everything I do. I really enjoy meal prep because I'm lazy. And I really have a crazy work schedule which means I need things organized and ready for me.

If you don't have little Rubbermaid containers go get them. You'll thank me. Oh and go get you a cute little lunch box! Ice packs if there is no fridge at work. (Ross, TJ Max, Tarjay are placed with super cute lunch boxes for low prices. Chevron lunch box- $4.99 @ Ross)

*you have to change your ways and be prepared!* by doing this I also like the somewhat organized meg... Say whaaaat?

You'll be feeling great after day 3 of the cleanse and have more energy.

If you are doing the 10 days cleanse with me or you're starting the 24 day challenge Good Luck my friends!! Stay strong and remember you've got this and it's just an evil craving.

Xoxo,
Mrs. Rogers

Advocare 10 Day Cleanse Tips!!

Sunday, March 23, 2014

Youll be thanking me... Just go ahead and say it now... Thanks Meg!! ;)

Lets just get your first question out of the way... Will I poop my pants??? I can't be on the toilet all day!!! Poop poop poop! *GASP* yes I said the P word. We all know that's the first thing you all want to know about because that's how I was when I did my first 10 day cleanse. I was scared. I have IBS anyways so yeah it's a part of my life. TMI you might say but you'll thank me.

If you are uncomfy with this bathroom talk sorry! Maybe. ;)

I did the 24 day challenge back in August  last year preparing for the wedding. I had already tried Spark because my dad rocks and sent me some. Look back on some post from when I started drinking Spark. Life changer!

The first 10 days of the 24 day challenge is the cleanse phase. Days 11-24 is the max phase. Loved it and great results.

I decide to be crazy and do another 10 day cleanse 10 days before we left on our cruise for the wedding. Smart and great idea!

What I learned is how to eat healthy and clean. How to enjoy working out and sweating made me happy. I slept better and was full throughout the day and not craving crap. I love turkey burgers, turkey sausage and ground turkey. It's easy to cook and so much better for you. Veggies and fruit were never an issue for me. I did branch out and try new things. Very thankful for that! You never know until you try! Believe me... I have texture issues and do not like my food looking odd.

With the 10 day cleanse you get to drink (chug) the fiber drink for days 1-3 and then you are off the nasty drink on days 4,5, 6 and 7. Days 8,9 and 10 the dreaded fiber drink is back. Blah.

It's really not that bad if you just down it quick. The powder fiber drink mixes with 8 oz of water. Then you CHUG!!! I prefer to use a straw. Once again... I have texture issues. After you drink your fiber drink you drink 8oz of water or a drinking class full... Whatever works. Then you get to eat 30 minutes later!!

I'm writing a blog Tuesday on food ideas, meal prep and daily plan. You must plan so you won't fail! Trust me... Some days I don't have time to eat lunch but I have find time or make easy items for on the go. I need to eat healthy and not like crap.

Your typical funeral director... Older chubby man in a suit. We discussed this at work the other day and it's true.

The cleanse is pretty easy after day 3 and you are already feeling better. Spark is giving you energy, and you are eating healthy. On the right track!!

Big whamp whamp whamp coming... No dairy!! Ack! OMG!! WHAT!! Cheese!! I love cheese! And Greek yogurt.

10 days!!! Remember that!! You can make it!

**no booze*** wine and beer are my fave. I enjoy having a glass of wine at night. But for 10 days it'll be alright.

I'll finish up with the grand finale!!! Poop. Your poo will be like soft serve. No... I will not take credit for that. I was told by someone the whole texture of your poo.. TMI was going through my head the whole time but then I was thankful to know I wouldn't be sprinting to the bathroom with liquid lava. (Yes I talk like a little boy sometimes... You're thinking it anyways.) It wasn't bad at all. Nothing compared to what I've experienced in the past with my ibs.

Stay tuned for meal prep ideas and other 21 day cleanse tips.

Where the F have you been???

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Perfect title right? I know it's been forever since my last blog post and I feel bad. It kept me accountable for myself and the weight loss journey. I enjoyed opening up to strangers which became great friends. Some who text daily! Technology blows my mind.

So... Where the f have I been?? Well, I started my apprenticeship at work!!! Which now means crazy hours. (I might enjoy them actually) it's not a job it's a passion. I work 24 hour shifts every 8 days now which means staying at the funeral home and being on call. Spark to the rescue!!!

I also got hitched!!!! That's right I'm a Rogers now!! Welcome to my neighborhood!! ( I want the hubby aka the fella to wear a cardi so bad!!) lol The wedding was perfect! Don't you worry you'll have tons of pictures to see at the bottom... If you follow me on Instagram sorry you're going to get an overload again. xoxo! It sprinkled on our ride to the beach and our limo got rear ended... Yep! LOL Crazy ass St. Thomas drivers!! It did rain... After the photographer took his last photo. Not just rain... A down pour!

Our cruise was fun but I was ready to get back home to my pups. And land. I wore sea bands the whole time. I did get sick the first night. Rough seas!!! It was fun to have our mini wedding party along the cruise. Playing putt putt and getting massages was so much fun. The guys racing to the water slides and the the hammocks!!! Drooling! I might have tore up some food and booze on the ship and on the islands. Our bar bill was redic!!! But it was our honeymoon and we had a blast!

I announced on Instagram and FB that I switched dresses without telling anyone except for a very few. The hubby didn't know until our wedding night dinner. The original dress was a 16W and the new dress was a 12 regular! I wanted to cry and might have inside. I lost 50 pounds and over 50 inches all over. (Over 6 inches on each thigh...) Say what!?!?

I worked hard on changing my eating habits. That was the toughest thing for me. Walking and trying T25. That went ok... But I should have been harder on the fitness part. I became a distributor with Advocare and did the 24 day challenge. Loved it so much I did the 10 day cleanse before leaving for the wedding. I love Advocare products and Spark is a life savor! Learning to eat right while using the products educated me on food and the horrible thing I was putting in my body. Food was my comfort.

After getting back from the cruise I slacked and slipped into holiday food comas! Work was busy and always made excuses to eat chick fil a. NOM!!!! It's a problem I have really. It's so close to work and super yummy and $6.81 with a "my pleasure" and a smile. I'm saying goodbye to my favorite place. When the casket company rep knows where to give you a gift card to without asking you know you have a problem. :( So goodbye to you Chick Fil A!!! I will visit for grilled nuggets.

I've started back on my smoothie kick. I forgot how much I loved them and how full I was and the nutrients I was receiving from fruits and veggies. I sometimes just don't have time and a smoothie is perfect. I wish I had my ninja blender in a backpack togo.

I'm going to start another fitness challenge and 10 day Advocare cleanse or 24 day challenge which includes the cleanse phase. I'm going to start walking again and working out. I'm back y'all is what I'm screaming!!! I gain 15 pounds since the wedding. And I wanted to throat punch myself!!! I've lost 10 so far since and I'm over it and pissed I let myself slip back into a slacker.

Join me and help me stay motivated again. I'll probably annoy you with an overload of fitness and weightless post... But it helps me! So cheer me on or ignore me. But hopefully you'll cheer me on :)

P.S.
Married life is great!
